Girls... Girls

Just being Silly... I'm lov'n my time with Kailee before she grows up. Hey, we've gotta stick together, we're out-numbered!

Summer time?

The day it felt like summer, in January, was a great day for taking pics. It's so fun to watch them have a good time in their backyard!

Happily Ever After the Children slept and were fed...

...We enjoyed an awesome day at Disneyland. It was a thrill!!! The kids are already asking when we are going back.

Disneyland... Bisneyland

It's been brought to our attention that Jack Jack is a mirror image of Michael. Michael too can turn into solid steel after carrying him for an extended period of time.

Kailee was thrilled to meet Cinderella, yet nervous to touch her. Kailee does resemble the famous princess a bit doesn't she? This does cause one to question if she really came from Royal lines.

The Highlight of the Day was watching Preston become a Jedi. We knew he had the force but we wanted to be sure it would be channeled in the right direction. As he defeated the opponent (Colten could tell us his name), we were convinced he would be the next Obi Wan. Way to go Preston.

Blast OFF!

Here is Michael's first time on an airplane. October 27, 2008. Accompanied by his co-pilot Preston.

Here are some pics of the last few months. Sorry it's taken me so long. Hope you enjoy\"/

I'm the croolist Mom Ever!!!

Preston wrote me the cutest note today. He wrote, "I Luv U Mom. U R the Croolist Mom. I Wuntid to rit a leeder for U." For those of you who can't read Kindergartener, "I love you mom. You are the Coolest Mom. I wanted to write a letter for you."

Yesterday I bought him some new shoes. His one pair had the toes worn through. I was afraid he'd go to kick a soccer ball and lose his toes. I made him tell me ten things he liked about me to earn his shoes. These included... fun, crazy, I love you, nice, make me dinner, etc. but then he said I was his best friend. It was so tender. (Had Adam been in the car, Preston would have sided with Dad \"/) He is a sweet heart though. He has made many friends at school, mostly girls. They are chasing him all the time.

Kailee is keeping me smiling. It has been pretty cold the last few days and she refuses to wear a coat or pants. She seems to be worried it will not be a good outfit. Realizing sometimes the battle isn't worth fighting, I just let her dress herself and force a coat on her last minute. Her typical outfit consists of her pink summer dress, shorts underneath, her crocs, and sometimes they're on the right feet. If we're going anywhere important, I'll manage to get her into her cute jeans, shirt, and put a bow in her hair to match. Then Suddenly, somehow, right before we get into the car, she'll run downstairs with a skirt of some sort over her pants. That's my girl.

Michael is Sitting up, stands by the couch, says "Mama, Dada, and baba", and is crawling allover. His new fun toy is the Christmas. Instead of buying him presents to go under the tree, we will just give him the tree for Christmas. He is keeping us all smiling, he's the happiest guy ever. We love them all to pieces.

It goes on, and on, and on

Sorry for the lack of pictures. My computer is somehow stopping the upload process. Wish me luck in my constant battle between man and technology. Things are going well here and we are enjoying Texas. We have made some friends at church and within the neighborhood. They have helped us to feel welcome and it's starting to feel like home. We are gradually filling the house with furniture and messes. Preston and Kailee decided to make Cinnamon and Sugar Toast yesterday. I should have ran down stairs the minute they said, "Mom, we're making breakfast." My bad. It was literally everywhere. They had spilled a significant amount of sugar and cinnamon on the floor, and then tried to clean it up themselves... multiplying the mess in the process.
I'm sure many of you will recall the fabulous toy NIGHT BRIGHT. Someone actually gave Preston permission to buy one at a garage sale on Saturday. Mind you it has a gazillion little colorful pieces. I walked in on the kids throwing them all over Preston's room yelling "It's a party, it's a party". That same someone really should have shown them how to play with it \"/
The messes are just as funny as messy. I can't complain, the kids are pure angels for the most part. Kailee has a hard time sleeping in her room because she doesn't want to mess up her bed. Preston has also been keeping his room clean and has been a big help with Michael. He is home sick today. It was hard to keep him home because he is suppose to be Mayor of the Week in his class. This would me there is a lot of focus on him. So today he is Mayor of our House. I told him he is the boss and We'll do everything for him. Of course this will involve some persuasion like, "Mayor do you need me to sit and watch cartoons with you?"
Michael is growing and getting cuter everyday. He is starting to sit up, and scoot on the floor. He loves his brother and sister, and especially his Dad.
Adam is doing great at work. He is enjoying his co-workers and has invited them to our house Friday. We love to entertain and are excited to have them over. Adam is the most efficient and talented worker I know. One day I'd love for him to tackle my to do list, because I know he'd get it done in half the time. Meanwhile, I am getting excited for company to come for the BYU game. Things won't all be in order, but they won't matter much either.
Hope all is going well for each of you patient enough to read this post. Love Ya'll
Michelle

Preston's First day of School...

Our boy is growing! Preston's day-by day countdown finally ended on August 25th as he started kindergarten. He was sooooo excited to go to school.

We dropped him off to the madhouse they call the first day of school amongst herds of parents and children. Preston seemed to fit right in and was very comfortable with his teacher and the setting. Upon returning home and further interrogations, the toughest part of the day for him was lunch. We sent him to school with a lunchable, but it didn't occur to us that he may not know how to eat a lunchable. Apparently, after finally getting the darn thing open, and making his first cracker goodness, lunch was over and he had to throw it all away. That was the only time he cried (says Preston.)

Now Preston loves coming home and telling us about EVERY detail of his day (except for the bad... we find he brings that up later prefaced by, "Dad, I want to tell you something but don't want you to be mad..." then he tells us about something else that made him cry. He loves telling us that everyone wants to be his friend, that his school had a race and he won, that they did a pledge of allegiance to Texas and not to America, and so on.

He seems to be doing well and taking it in stride. Go Preston.

Tutu's and Ballet Shoes

Dancing is Kailee's new thing. She is taking a ballet/tap class with Mrs. Leslie and Loves it. Kailee is really blossoming as she tries a few things on her own. We absolutely love watching her dance. It is so darn cute.

Reunion Golf Excursion

Mom and Angela had the best drives of the day!
This is our adorable niece and nephew Emma and Tyler. "Is this over yet?"

FOUR!!! Believe me, the golf club was thrilled to have all 11 children and 12 adults golfing in July. We were quite the sight! We really did have a great time.

Grandpa and Grandma's new Pony

What a beautiful sight! Paris had her little colt on June 22. The kids couldn't wait to see it. "Brown and it's diamond. It's a boy. I just like to feed it." Kailee said. It was hard to pull the kids away from him. They thought he was so cute.

Our time with the Vandermyde's

We stayed with the Vandermyde's the first month of our summer. We had a blast. The kids couldn't stay away from the "park" in the backyard, Abbie the bird, and of course their uncles. They couldnt' get enough of looking at the stars with their uncle Jon. He really showed them a great time.

We had a lot of fun spending time with them and really enjoyed seeing the progress on the basement. It looks great by the way. Thank you for letting us stay with you and for all of your support during our crazy lives.

Whitney's Baby Shower!

We are all waiting for little Axel to arrive. Whitney is a cute little pregnant girl and we are thrilled for her and Matt's baby coming in September. We are also excited for Annie and Regan's little girl in September as well. And a Yoo Hoo for Brandon and Lindsay... they're expecting too!!! Thank you guys for adding to the Vandermyde mix. We love you

Preston's Turned 5

This ishowold we are, or how many days since we've showered!

Not 3 but 5 Stooges~

Preston Finally turned 5 after counting down for 4 months. We celebrated at the Walter farm, then went up to the house on account of wind. Adam made up a super cool scavenger hunt, it even rhymed. We were able to have his Grandma and Grandpa, aunts and uncles, cousins and a few friends in attendance. Thank you everyone for the wonderful gifts and an awesome fun time.
